Softening our emotions and moving out of the darkness
I always get asked what Reiki is and what it feels like and honestly it is not easy to put into words. It is something that a person needs to experience to fully understand what is explained.
But if I had to use words, I would say Reiki helps you lean into the light. It is a gentle, yet profoundly powerful practice of letting go and letting the energy of light and love connect to every cell of your being.
A Reiki session isn't necessarily about having a grand spiritual awakening—though that can occur. It's more about deeply connecting with your body, being present, and softening the emotions that have kept you in darkness, stuck in the past, or anxious about the future. It enables you to fully embrace the present moment and trust where you are. With the light comes a stillness and a strength in knowing that everything will be okay.
I say embrace the light as Reiki energy gently guides you, supporting you through the process. It allows you to feel safe, light, and grounded, moving you towards feeling expansive and confident.
When you can soften your anger, fears, and inner critic, you create space for your inner voice. This voice is one of kindness, strength, and inspiration—the voice of your spirit.
Each session clears away more, reminding you of the light you are composed of. Some connect deeply with their energetic bodies, finding the experience mystical, but in reality, we've simply forgotten this feeling, so it seems different and magical, yet it's our truth, our essence.
For those who don't meditate or find meditation challenging, a Reiki session might be just what you need. You don't have to do anything but be. Many who typically can't switch off are surprised by their Reiki experience. The ability to completely let go allows your body to recalibrate, rebalance, and reconnect, shifting energy from the mind to feel grounded once more.
It's an experience you have to have for yourself. Each person and every session is different and unique as more and more layers are peeled away and you begin to come back to your wholeness.
